Images taken with Lunt LS60 or Lunt LS100 in single stack or double stack mode as indicated near the image. Using native focal length for full disk and 2/5x or 3x Barlow lens for prominence and surface detail.
Recording with ASI174. Typically 10% to 20% of 750 / 1000 / 2000 / 5000 frames stacked in AutoStakkert!3 wavelet sharpening in Registax 6 and finishing in Photoshop CS2.
Time-lapse videos with Python script and ffmpeg.
2024-11-03 18:39UT. We just changed back to standard time. The elevation of the sun is a bit lower and the temperature during observation a bit more manageable. We still have a lot of activity from the solar maximum.
2024-10-19 19:36UT. It's been a while since I used the 60mm Lunt scope. This time I wanted to try it on the new Ioptron HEM15 mount. It worked well.
2024-05-18 19:45UT. Another day of interesting solar activity. Region3664 has disappeared over the limb but other prominences and sun spots are active as well.
2024-05-18 19:55UT. Detail of a Sunspot with 2.5x BArlow lens. Extra sharpening using PhotoAI.
204-05-18 20:00UT. Detail of the prominence with 2.5x Barlow lens. It would have been nice to make a time-lapse of the prominences but the Sun was getting behind the building roof too quickly.
2024-05-18 20:15UT. Another pronimence in detail with the 2.5x Barlow.
2024-05-11 18:26UT. Today we have a white light image to show the very large Sunspot active region ar3664. Clearly one of the largest Sunspots in this cycle so far. Images for full disk and detail with the 3x Barlow lens.
2024-05-11 18:52UT Detail of the Sunspot group with the 3x Barlow lens.
2024-04-27 19:15UT. We are starting (loat) into 2024 solar observing. The Sun is near the 11year cycle maximum and some nice prominences were visible. One in particular showed several filament sturctures and later ca. 100 videos of it were used in a time lapse.
2024-04-27 19:05UT to 20:40UT For the same prominence about 100 AVI recordings of 1000 frames were captured and processed into the below timelapse.
