Moon Observing Campaign 2016

Images taken with 5inch or 6inch APO refractor or 12inch CDK
Recording with DMK41 or ASI120MC ASI174MM camera using FireCapture software. Processing in AstroStakkert!2, Registax 6 and Photoshop CS2.

2016-11-13 22:58PST. An image of the full Supermoon. At this time the Moon was no more perfectly full and some craters are appearing at the terminator. (Click on the image for full size version)

2016-11-13 18:30PST The rising of the Supermoon. The Moon had an apparent diameter of 33' 43.7" tonight. Photograph with Canon 600D and 100-400mm Canon zoom lens approx. at 150mm using F8.

2016-11-13 18:00PST. Capturing the rising of the Supermoon as time-lapse animation. Images were taken with Canon 600D and 100-400mm Canon zoom lens at 400mm using F8 and 1/125sec. A total of 240frames at about 1 frame every 1.5sec. frames resized to 1620x1080 and combined into video with ffmpeg.

2016-11-10 04:32PST. The seeing was average this night and I recorded a sequence of images along the terminator. We are starting near North with Plato

2016-11-10 04:22PST. We come to Copernicus with the Sun already at a higher elevation and thus shorter shadows. Notice the chains of tiny craters around it.

2016-11-10 04:20PST. Rimae Hippalus a system of rilles following a curved shape.

2016-11-10 04:12PST. Crater Capuanus. I find the shape of the three extending mountains interesting.

2016-11-10 04:09PST. Finally reaching Clavius at the southern lunar highlands.

2016-10-09 02:40UT. A new mosaic along the Lunar terminator. Click on the image for full size.

2016-09-12 03:30UT. A day after the previous image another mosaic was made with the ASI174. In the mosaic I only cover the terminator part of the Moon. Click on the image for full size.
