Moon occults Venus on July 17 2001

This occultation occurred in the daylight morning hours as observed from the San Francisco Bay Area. I was lucky that the Moon and Venus were easily observable from my home balcony using my 8inch Schmidt Casserain. Oerating at 2000mm focal length yielding f10 the image was still a bit small so a 2x tele converter was added. This is the scope and setup for the observation

The slides were scanned and processed. During processing I chose two different representations.

Represent the color appearance as it was seen in the sky.
Chose colors to remove the blue sky color and show the colors of the Moon and Venus.

Plese follow the above links to see a sequence of exposures taken during Venus disappearance.
