AIC 2015

October 17th 2015 was exhibition day for the AIC2015. Here are some impressions and photos.

It starts in the parking garage.

Canon showed their collection of lenses and their sensors.

Planewave showed a 17inch and a 14inch CDK. They are very popular. A lot of mount vendors showed CDK scopes as examples of load capacity on their mounts.

New manufacturing methods are coming fast. The baffle tubes including internal baffles are made on a 3D printer. Today the primary baffle is made from 2 pieces. But soon they will have a larger 3D printer and then the baffle will be one piece.

Roland Christen of Astro-Physics shows a new version of the 130mm APO

AP also has a new mount controller with WiFi.

Starlight Instruments shows new versions of their Feather Touch Focuser for APO refractors.

Also a fun project. How big can we make the focus knob?

They also showed a new version of motorized focuser and a motor drive for Lunt telescopes.

Officina Stellare showed two of their astrographs. This model in the background is with special wide field for a university.

This is their standard Riccardi Honders 200mm F3

Celestrons C14 edge.

A lot of mounts at 10Micron. Don't come close to the Planewave in the back. It was moving around very fast.

QHYCCD came from China.

Here is Mr. Qui himself. It was very nice talking with him.

Starlight Express shows CCD cameras, filter wheels and guiders.

SBIG now with new management shows their line of CCDs.

Dr. Gaston Baudat shows a commercial Hartman test setup that he offers for optics testing.
